I offer a "FREE ESTIMATE", so let me tell you a little of what happens after you send me your photograph.

When I receive the photo, the first thing I do is to just look at it. I don’t mean a quick look, I study it, I magnify it, and I try to see as much detail as I can. This may seem like an obvious thing to do, but it is the start to the finished restoration. I always ask for the "highest resolution" scan, and for it to always be a “color “scan even if the photo is a black and white one. The reason is, that doing a "color" scan picks up additional information from the photo, and it makes for a better restoration. It needs to be in a ".jpg" or ".png" format for me to work on.

I never work on an original photo; it always stays safe in your hands, no chance for it to be lost in the mail, which can and does happen. If for some reason you can’t email me, there are other ways to get it done. eg You could have the original scanned and put on a CD and send  it, I never work on an original photograph.

This is what is included in the “Free Estimate”.

I do some preliminary work to give me an idea of what needs to be done to give you a good restoration. There is “NO” charge for this, and I like to work closely with my customer, so there might be a few emails discussing what you want done before I give you an estimate.

After we agree with what needs to be done, the real work starts. Often there is way more damage to the photo than can be seen with the naked eye. I usually magnify it to many times its size when I work, and often there are stains, creases, leftover grain from photo paper, etc. that will need to be removed. This is the cleaning up process.
